Editorial policy

Independence

Our coverage is decided by the newsroom under the rules on this page. Commercial partners, advertisers and the companies we write about have no say over what we publish or how. Sponsored or partner content, if we ever publish it, will be clearly labelled.

Sourcing

  • Every story lists its sources at the end; the first source is the primary one.
  • We prefer primary sources: regulators, courts, governments and legislatures, company and exchange filings, official press releases.
  • Regulation stories cite at least one regulator, government, legislature, court or company-filing source.
  • Figures such as revenue, fines, RTP or maximum wins are reported only as stated in the source.
  • Reports from other media are attributed, and we try to trace them to the original source.

Fairness and accuracy

We aim to be accurate, fair and clear. Where a company is the subject of a negative story (a fine, a licence decision, a lawsuit), we report the official findings and, where available, the company's response. We never include promotional links in such stories.

Responsible gambling

We do not glamorise gambling or present wins as typical. Stories about wins and jackpots include responsible gambling information. We do not target or knowingly write for people under 18.

Bylines

Stories are credited to the SpinHerald Newsroom, an organizational byline. We do not use invented reporter names or personas. A story will carry a person's name only if that real person wrote or edited it.

AI and automation

First drafts are written by an AI language model from the source material, and every draft goes through an automated fact-check against its sources before it can be published. Drafts that fail are held for manual review or dropped, never published as they are. Each such story is labelled. Details: AI & automation disclosure.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently. See the corrections policy or report an error.
