Corrections policy

We want to get things right, and to be open when we don't.

  • Corrections: factual errors are fixed as soon as they are confirmed. The article shows the update time and a note describing the change.
  • Updates: when a story develops (for example a company responds), we add the new information and mark the article as updated.
  • Clarifications: where wording was misleading but not wrong, we clarify it and say so.

Found something wrong? Report an error — a link to a source that shows the correct information helps us act faster.
