SpinHerald Newsroom
Organizational byline
SpinHerald Newsroom is the byline we use for stories produced by the SpinHerald news desk as a whole. It is not a person, and we do not invent reporter names or profiles. If a named journalist or editor joins the team, their stories will carry their own byline and profile.
How stories under this byline are made
- Sources first. Stories start from published material — regulators, courts, governments and legislatures, company filings and press releases, and reports from other media, which we attribute. Every story lists its sources, with the primary source first.
- AI-assisted drafting. An AI language model writes the first draft from that source material. It is instructed to use only facts present in the sources.
- Automated fact-check. Before anything can be published, software compares the names, figures and dates in the draft against the source documents. Regulation stories also need at least one primary source (a regulator, government, legislature, court or company filing). Drafts that fail a check are not published; they are held for manual review or dropped.
- Labelling. Stories made this way say so at the end of the article and link to our AI & automation disclosure.
Automated checks reduce errors but do not remove them. When we get something wrong, we fix it.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and say what changed — see the corrections policy. Spotted a mistake? Report an error, ideally with a link to a source showing the correct information.
